College Application Week provides high school seniors the opportunity to learn about Montana colleges and universities and complete a college application during the school day, thereby opening the door for many students who might not otherwise take this important step toward college. Participating high school seniors not only have an opportunity to apply to a college during College Application Week, but also have the opportunity to utilize the central application to apply to any school in the Montana University System for FREE all year long.  Montana’s tribal colleges and private universities also offer free applications during College Application Week.

October
According to the National College Attainment Network, 90% of students that complete the FAFSA will enroll in college the following fall semester, making FAFSA completion a central part of college access. Given the changes in Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) priority filing deadlines in the Montana University System to December 1st, we strongly encourage events surrounding FAFSA completion throughout the month of October.
First Generation College Celebration
November 8
November 8th is recognized as National First-Generation Celebration Day. This day celebrates students who are, or will be, the first in their family to attend a college or university after high school. The goal of this event is to create a culture of support for first-generation students and share the stories of those who have taken the journey before them.
Decision Day Montana
May 5 - 9, 2025
Montana’s Decision Day celebrates all graduates as they launch into their next step in life.  For some, this may be a two-year program, a four-year program, an apprenticeship, military service, or entering into the workforce with the skills and preparation attained in high school.  This event provides an opportunity to support students in the transition after high school, and fosters inclusiveness and community by recognizing each student’s post-high school goals.
